BTI, a 501(c)(3) organization, which provides tuition-free training in laboratory technician skills to qualified unemployed and under employed individuals, is supported through grants from the Foundation Community, workforce training agreements, and self-generated revenue from our Scientific Workshops that are offered to employers.

Our Supporters

BTI gratefully acknowledges the critical support of its donors.

Foundation support has been received from the Abell Foundation, BTI's primary funder since our inception, the Open Society Institute-Baltimore, the Morris Goldseker Foundation, The Annie E. Casey Foundation and special recognition to the Chester Higgins, Sr. Memorial Fund. Invitrogen Corporation provides invaluable support through donations of supplies and reagents. BTI also expresses its sincere appreciation to the many friends and donors who have provided valuable resources in support of our mission.

The unique BTI Laboratory Associate Program has provided basic laboratory skills training to Maryland residents since 1998. This training is tuition-free to those who qualify, and are willing to work hard to meet the Program's standards. Successful completion of the Program readies workers for rewarding careers in the bioscience industry.
