The BioTechnical Institute
of Maryland, Inc. (BTI, 600 E. Lombard St., Baltimore, MD, 21202) is pleased to offer the following courses
in cell culture and molecular biology at our Baltimore, Maryland training center. If you have already taken one of our courses,
you know their value. In addition to the offerings below, BTI can also provide customized training at your work site.
BTI's workshops are designed to provide a solid understanding of specific scientific topics through both classroom presentation and laboratory work.
Clients will gain significant experience in the performance of laboratory techniques taught in each workshop.
Through integrated learning methods, utilizing hands-on training to reinforce lecture material,
clients will be able to apply the information learned in BTI's workshops into applications in their own laboratories.
3 Day Introduction to the Polymerase Chain Reaction Workshop
May 19-21, 2008
November 12-14, 2008
Cost: $1430.00
Topics will be approached using a combination of lectures and laboratory exercises.
Laboratory experiments will reinforce the lecture materials and provide hands-on experience in the basic techniques surrounding amplification.
Clients will learn the basic theory and techniques used for PCR. Following this course, clients will be able to perform PCR reactions in their own laboratories,
troubleshoot experiments, design primers and determine PCR reaction conditions.
Topics covered
Introduction to PCR, critical requirements for amplification, thermostable polymerases, reverse transcription,
cloning of PCR products, primer design and mutagenic PCR.
This is an introductory-level workshop. It is suitable for those with some very basic molecular biology experience.
No PCR experience is required.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of a workshop cancellation, BTI will refund only the workshop registration fees.
